Mission of the municipality

The Bride of Jesus Christ

As we understand the Word of God, there is only one church on this earth: the Bride of Jesus Christ, who is preparing herself full of longing and devotion for the return of her Savior and Bridegroom. It is the family of God that lives and works together in love and unity – like a body made up of different members – hand in hand. It is distributed all over the world in small cells or local communities, some of which are networked and multiplying.

The one Plan of Salvation

This church has one vision, one goal: to complete God’s plan of salvation for mankind in the power of the Holy Spirit. Thus, it prepares the way for the return of its Lord. This is done by fulfilling the commission Jesus Christ gave her, “Make disciples of all nations,” through preaching the Gospel, baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching to keep all that Jesus commanded. Those who thus come to faith and are discipled are added to the church of God and take their place in fulfilling the great Great Commission.

Everyone is a part & can contribute

It is this one goal, this one great mission, in which every member of the body should engage with the gifts and talents entrusted to him by God. Just as there is no superfluous part of a body without a task, so it is with the church. In the cooperation of all members, in mutual strengthening, edification and complementation, it moves steadily forward to occupy land and spread the kingdom of God.

But to each one of us grace is given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Therefore it is said, "He ascended up on high, and took away captives, and gave gifts to men." But the [word], "He ascended," what does it mean but that he also descended before to the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is the same who also ascended above all heavens, that He might fill all things. And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to the perfect manhood, to the measure of the full stature of the Christ; That we may no longer be babes, tossed about and driven about by every wind of doctrine, by the deceitful play of men, by the craftiness with which they deceive into error, but, being truly in love, grow up in all things unto him who is the head, the Christ. From him the whole body, joined together and united by all the joints which give assistance to one another according to the measure of the efficiency of each member, accomplishes the growth of the body for the edification of itself in love.
